Why should we learn HTML, PHP, JAVASCRIPT etc to build a website when there are tools like WordPress?

It's just like, you should learn how to walk, jump, run, kick, do sit-ups etc even if there is a wheelchair which could take you any place you want.

what a fabulous answer :), I love working with wordpress but I agree that with you that we should learn HTML etc.

Sometimes, Wordpress or any other CMS cannot fit 100% into the requirements for the website you want to build, thus you need to write some code for it. Wordpress itself was built with some (it not most) elements of HTML.
